Peer Review of RVHS Unveiled Dec. 14 at Ajax Community Centre Public Forum

Important Implications for A-P Hospital Services Possible

A long-awaited panel report of  the operations of the Rouge Valley Health System will be revealed at a  Dec. 14th public meeting at the Ajax Community Centre. The meeting begins at 8:15 a.m. with committee reports and remarks.  The peer review will be presented at 1:00 p.m.

A copy of the PowerPoint recommendations of the report will be available prior to the meeting at 8:00 a.m. The full report will be available when the Board approves it perhaps after the meeting.

There is no provision for public comment of questions scheduled from the floor at this session.

Interested members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The report may have serious implications for hospital services and operations at the Ajax-Pickering site.

Centring on matters of governance, finance and operations at the RVS, the review was necessitated, in part, by a possible $12 million deficit faced by the system.

A group of outside 'experts' headed by Janet Beed, CEO of the Markham-Stouffville Hospital, has been working since June to come up with a performance plan to be presented to the RVHS Board and the Central East LHIN.
